Description
The Warehouse/Logistics will be responsible for driving and maintaining inventory integrity and effective material flows from receiving through shipping. In addition he/she will be responsible for developing and maintaining efficient and cost effective shipment methods for both inbound and outbound materials. Lean and Kanban strategies will be employed to achieve the above objectives. The individual will also bring experience in a growth environment in regards to warehouse design, layout, and optimization. Must demonstrate strong material handling process definition and implementation skills.
Job Duties: Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials. Issue shipping instructions and provide routing information to ensure that delivery times, costs, and locations are optimized and coordinated. Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing. Schedule and monitor air or surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials. Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints and effectively manage all logistics suppliers. Collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customers key personnel (internal and external) involved in or directly relevant to a logistics activity. Develop an understanding of customers needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met. Direct availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products. Ensure the integrity of physical inventories and the stated qualities and values within the companys accounting system. Participate in cycle counts and other physical inventories. Collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements, to take advantage of sales opportunities or, in the case of shortages, to minimize negative impacts on a business. Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources. Lead the design and implementation of warehouse layout. Report project plans, progress, and results. Participate in special projects individually and in a team setting including, but not limited to repeatable process definition and implementation. Skill Set: High school diploma/GED required. Relevant Bachelors degree strongly preferred. Significant experience in a High Tech manufacturing environment preferred. Strong experience with implementation of Lean and Kanban systems/principals inside a manufacturing environment required. Intermediate to Advanced computer skills a must. Advanced skills in Excel and Quickbooks a must. Demonstrated strong communication skills.
