Vice President of Engineering Our Client VP

The Vice President of Engineering at Our Client is responsible for planning and directing the Engineering activities of Our Client including New Product Development, R&D, and Product Line Engineering support. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies and procedures, directing overall engineering activities and strategic planning to support technological advancements. This position is also responsible for analyzing business metrics or conditions to take frequent independent action to establish and achieve broad Company goals and objectives through directing technical and/or professional employees.

Normal Work Hours for this position are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (some nights and weekends may be required)

  • Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities of engineering personnel and projects.
  • Develop or implement policies, standards, or procedures for engineering and technical work.
  • Direct, review, and approve project design activities.
  • Confer with management, production, or marketing staff to discuss project specifications or procedures.
  • Assess project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs, or market demand.
  • Consult or negotiate with customers to prepare project specifications, present and explain proposals, reports, or findings.
  • Establish scientific or technical goals within broad outlines that support business objectives.
  • Prepare budgets, bids, or contracts.
  • Direct recruitment, placement, and evaluation of engineering staff.
  • Review, recommend, or approve contracts or cost estimates.
  • Plan or direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, or repair of engineering equipment.
  • Perform administrative functions, such as reviewing or writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, or purchasing of materials or services.
  • Evaluate environmental regulations or social pressures related to environmental issues to inform strategic or operational decision-making.
  • Solicit project support by conferring with officials or providing information to the public.
  • Evaluate the environmental impacts of engineering and research and development activities and develop or implement programs to improve sustainability or reduce the environmental impacts.
