The Field Applications Engineer is responsible for MSDC(massively scalable data center) cloud customer support with focus on Networking Product offerings. These products include Ethernet Switches, Controllers, Physical layer devices and Optics. This role has a pre-sales and post-sales component. In pre-sales role, the FAE needs to have thorough understanding of MSDC network architecture, current deployments and future roadmap. FAE needs to have strong understanding of products such that he can help align current silicon offerings/roadmap with Cloud customer roadmap. He is expected to do product/feature demos and facilitate technology evaluation at Cloud Customers. He should be able to establish strong relationships with Customer engineering organization at all levels. In post-sales role, the FAE will be responsible to manage technical support during all phases of product life cycle (design, proto, pre production, production and sustaining). These responsibilities include facilitating schematic/layout reviews, board/interfaces bring up, feature debug, performance enhancement, compliance to standards, debug logs, upgrading SDK/linux kernel, trying out different drivers, replicating customer issues on in-house setup. Along with customer, this individual will be working with multiple teams within the company, both within sales as well as division marketing/applications and development teams.
Min 4 years experience in Networking space either as an FAE, Technical Marketing Engineer, hardware engineer or an embedded developer. Strong soft skills: Team player, independent, strong verbal and communication skills, leader, can-do attitude, owns and be accountable, ability to prioritize and multitask.
