The University at North Carolina at Greensboro department of Facilities Operations is currently seeking to hire a skilled Electronics Specialist (Controls Technician) to:
Operate, maintain, repair, and upgrade as directed the campus building automation system (BAS), Other HVAC control equipment, and; Miscellaneous electronic systems.
This position also performs hardware and software preventive maintenance, repairs, and improvements. This position also assists with commissioning of building systems.

Key Responsibilities include:
1. Calibration, Operation and Maintenance of Building Automation System and other HVAC Controls
a) Performs service and repairs (hardware and software) on building automation system (BAS) to ensure proper operation while minimizing downtime.
b) Utilizes BAS to analyze system issues/failures and interact with mechanics and vendors to effect system repairs.
c) Acts as technical liaison for Facilities Operations for these systems during performance of these duties.
d) Responds to BAS alarms and communication issues.
e) Calibrates and tunes controls as needed for proper operation.
f) Maintains adequate equipment inventory.

2. Maintain and Repair HVAC Systems
a) Assists other technicians with maintenance and repair as required to ensure proper operational status is maintained.
b) Performs troubleshooting as needed.

3. System Commissioning
a) Assists with retro- and re-commissioning of building systems.
b) Conducts field inspections and performs review of building controls as needed or required to verify proper operation per design.

d) Identifies, recommends, and implements control strategies to reduce energy consumption.
e) Coordinates with supervision and with other University staff as needed.

a) Maintains accurate operation, maintenance and repair records of campus building automation systems including facility plans, associated technical data, and sequences of operation.
