Specifically, candidates need to have an understanding and working experience developing new products, from marketing requirements, through design, manufacturing and support through the product life cycle. Typical duties include; writing engineering requirements, test plans, designing circuits, schematic capture, simulation, developing test plans, and most importantly, validating the design in the lab and in the field. You will interact with cross-functional teams such as; PCB Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Product Verification teams, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop products from concept, through design, manufacturing and support through end of life
- Lead teams who Design, Document, and Validate designs
- Work with compliance groups to ensure successful completion of certification process
- Write Engineering Requirements and Test Plans
- Work with Program Management to define schedules and resource allocation
- Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Work with Marketing and Product Management defining new products and technologies
- Take responsibility for schedules, performance and cost objectives
Requirements:
- 10+ Years experience designing and developing Power Supply products
- Theoretical understanding of power supply topologies; Flyback, Resonant, ZVS, Synchronous, Bridging, etc...
- Deep understanding of theory and application of magnetics to inductors and transformers to achieve maximum efficiency
- Intricate knowledge of FETs, MOSFETs, SCRs, TRIACs, IGBTs, Bipolar Transistors, TVS, etc.
- Able to model and simulate complex circuits and systems
- Ability to define future power conversion architectures and take the lead for developing new technologies
- Experience with safety and compliance regulations
- Familiarity with UL-1741, EN61000, IEEE1547Bot
MSEE
PhD or equivalent preferred
Strong understanding of the product life cycle a definite plus
