Manufacturing operation in the Metro Birmingham, AL area is searching for an Instrumentation/Controls Engineer with 5+ years of applicable experience. BSEE or BSME required. This Instrumentation/Controls Engineer reports to the Maintenance Manager, and this engineer will supervise the hourly Instrumentation Lead Person and the technicians. Candidate will be responsible to mange, develop, and drive execution of site wide instrumentation maintenance program. Will provide leadership and partners with engineering to develop and manage instrumentation activities pertaining to automation, reliability standards, inspection, preventive maintenance, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis. Will develop the skills of the Instrumentation Team through training/education plans and hands-on instruction. Would be responsible for the maintenance of all instrumentation and electrical equipment. Would develop applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new industrial uses and would use computer assisted engineering and design software & equipment to perform engineering tasks. Would lead the development of controls technicians and would lead projects to improve instrumentation reliability. Would develop PMs to improve instrumentation performance and calibration and would monitor instrumentation performance.
